I am the Program Director at the Evolve Ski & Snowboard Cross Club
I was the Strength & Conditioning Coach at Banff Hockey Academy

From December of 2014 until June 2016 I worked for the Banff Hockey Academy. My main role was running the strength and conditioning program for the athletes. I also manage all off-ice performance needs, such as nutrition education, concussion and injury prevention and management, along with the other aspects of sport that happen off the field of play. I absolutely loveed working with these young, developing athletes.

After spending the last six years coaching at the National Team level, it is really refreshing to be running this grassroots program. Working with athletes as they get into the sport of boardercross and big mountain riding is very rewarding. Lake Louise is the mountain I grew up skiing and snowboarding at, so it is fun to be showing these riders the lay of the land.

For the last 20 years I have been a professional athlete and ambassador for a number of different companies and currently I still work with Helly Hansen Clothing and K2 Skis and Snowboards in promoting and marketing the brands.

I spent six year helping to develop the sport of para snowboard and it was very exciting to see the sport debut at the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia. I learned so much from the athletes I worked with and the coaching experience has help mold me into the coach I am today.

A little more about me.

I am grateful for the athletic career I had, as it created a platform to base my coaching from. I had the pleasure to work with many great coaches and support staff to develop my leadership skills and I am a firm believer in continuously educating myself to be better.

I coached the BC Snowboard Team and took them to the Canada Games in 2011

Shortly after I finished my undergrad degree I began working at a coach with the BC Boardercross Team. I was luck enough to go to the Canada Games in Halifax in 2011 with this group and have working with a number of athletes who have gone on to the National Team.

I am a Master Learning Facilitaor and sit of the Technical Committee for coach development at Canada Snowboard

Since 2010 I have been a member of the Canada Snowboard Coaching Program TEC and a Master Learning Facilitator and Evaluator. I helped create the Learn to Ride Adaptive coaching material and the NCCP coaching material that we use to train our snowboard coaches in Canada. It is a great team of coaches leading this program and an honor to work with them.

I base my coaching philosophy off my personal mantra; Be Great, Act kindly, and Have fun.

  • I believe it is important to create a positive environment for athletes to feel empowered to pursue and achieve their athletic and personal goals.

  • With a holistic approach, I am committed to motivating individuals to be great athletes, loyal teammates, and good human beings.

  • I feel it is important to be passionate about what we put energy into and I motivate the athletes I work with to find enjoyment in their practices and their personal journey.

  • Trust is the key to a good relationship and I base my programing on open communication, honesty and leading by example.
